The Backhausdance Summer Intensive provides high-caliber training programs for aspiring artists and working professionals ages 13 to professional. Held in the state-of-the-art dance facilities on the campus of Chapman University, the intensive supports the technical growth and artistic development of the contemporary dancer.

Backhausdance will present an engaging, athletic and entertaining outdoor performance for the community to enjoy. In addition to two repertory works, this critically-acclaimed Orange County contemporary dance company will introduce a new dance specifically created for the Civic Center venue by Artistic Director Jennifer Backhaus.

Dance lovers from around Orange County are invited to dress comfortably and enjoy this unique interactive dance experience. It’s a family afternoon of dance suitable for audiences of all ages.

Bring a picnic and beach chairs to enjoy the performance outdoors in front of the Central Library.

Get a chance to see the companies up close in the intimate space at Theatre Raymond Kabbaz as they perform in their home town. The Festival was created with the idea of bringing together some of the best dance companies in the Los Angeles area in one site. Saturday evening's concert will feature works by Sarah Elgart / Arrogant Elbow, Kybele Dance Company, FUSE Dance Company, Ania Catherine / Cue, MashUP Dance Company, Backhausdance and Jazz Antiqua.
